The 17 000 square metre Enver Hoxha Mausoleum, normally referred to as the "Pyramid" for obvious reasons, was constructed to be the museum of Hoxha's reign. Following the regime change, it became a conference centre and party venue but now is threatened with demolition to make way for a new Parliament building.
